B. Earl Barnett
I was born 10 June 1938 at Fletcher, North Carolina third son of Ervin and Lillian Whitaker
Barnett. My older brother were James Ervin and Charles Benjamin. I do n
Ωot have any sisters. We lived on Mountain Road in the Mountain Home community of Henderson County.
I attended Balfour Elementary School and graduated from Hendersonville High School with the class of 1957. I played Trombone and Drums in the Hendersonville High School Band and served as Drum Major (leader of the marching band) my junior and senior years. I was in the Ministerial Class of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated with the class of 1963.
I was saved by the Grace of God in the summer of 1950 at Vacation Bible School at Balfour Baptist Church. I continued to attend Balfour Baptist until Mountain Home Bible Church (now Mountain Home Independent Baptist Church) was established across the street from mu home in 1955. I served as Youth Leader and Sunday School Superintendent in this church and was ordained into the ministry by this church in May 1963.
I married my college sweetheart, Georgia Joan Brewington born 24 March 1943 in Batavia Iowa. The wedding took place 6 June 1964, 1964 at the Community Bible Church (now Calvary Baptist Church) in her home town of Batavia, Iowa. We have four children: Letha JoAnne Barnett born 27 April 1965, Bettina Ruth Barnett born 30 October 1967,Joel Allan Barnett born 24 March 1971 and Yetta Grace Barnett born 4 April 1982. Praise the Lord all of our children are serving the Lord. "I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father." (2 John 1:4, KJV).
The last two summers of my collage years I served as a summer missionary with North American Indian Mission in the Indian Villages along the coast of British Columbia, Canada. In September 1964, we joined the missionary family of Slavic Gospel Association of Chicago in preparation to serve the Lord as missionaries in Alaska. August 1965 found us along with our daughter Letha (less than four months old) in the native Aleut village of King Cove located at the tip of the Alaska Peninsula toward the Aleutian Islands 650 miles from Anchorage. Some have called this area a suburb of Siberia. I served as missionary pastor of the following churches in Alaska from August 1965 until October 1978: King Cove Bible Chapel, King Cove; Kodiak Bible Chapel, Kodiak; Calvary Baptist Mission, Unalaska; Lake Spenard Baptist, Anchorage; Calvary Baptist, Ninilchik; and Gateway Baptist, Ketchikan. I have had the blessed privilege of pastoring the Lord's people of Soldotna Baptist Church, in Soldotna, from October 1978 to October 2003. This is a self-supporting church.
I have served in various leadership positions in the Alaska Baptist Association over the past 25 years. I serve on the Board of Bob Jones University and the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship of North America. I am state director of the Alaska Regional of the Foundation Baptist Fellowship.
In October 2003 I resigned from Soldotna Baptist Church and became a Field Representative of Valley Independent Baptist Missions and Director of Midnight Sun Ministries.
In January 2012, King Cove Bible Church extended to us a call to be their pastor. We arrived in King Cove on June 12.
I trust that everyone who reads this will realize that God loves you. He loves you so much that He sent his Son to die for you. The Bible says, "
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16, KJV).
The Scripture also says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:9-13, KJV).
If you have never been saved, it is my prayer that your call upon the Lord today.
